The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary has been a registered charity since 1991 and provides a secure, peaceful, happy, lifelong home for over 100 donkeys which have been neglected, abandoned, or that are in need of care. Set in 55 acres of the picturesque Wroxall valley, with a wildlife area to explore, shop and café inside a converted rustic barn. Get up close to the donkeys, take part in one of our activities such as donkey grooming or shetland slalom, enjoy a delicious meal in Grazers Café and pick up a souvenir of your visit in Browse and Brays gift shop, or take out an adoption of any of our donkeys and ponies.

Ryde is the largest town on the Isle of Wight, and with its prominent position along the seafront and hovercraft and passenger ferry links it is little wonder it is often referred to as “The Gateway to the Island”.
