The Weald & Downland Living Museum – a hidden gem in the South East, quintessentially British in a picture perfect setting. It is a museum for those who want to see, touch and even smell what life was really like for people living in years gone by. Whether you are 5 or 95 there is something for everyone!
Visitors are welcome to soak up the tranquil atmosphere of the Museum and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Sense the immense power of the water mill, imagine being a pupil in a Victorian classroom or feel the heat from the roaring fire in a Tudor kitchen.
Rural life is at the core of the Museum’s storytelling. See the working and traditional farm animals, wander through historic gardens and learn how plants and herbs were used for medicine, cosmetics and colognes.
The Weald & Downland Living Museum is home to the BBC’s The Repair Shop ( Although you will be able to see the barn it may or may not be possible to go inside)
