Moreton-in-Marsh (Market Day)

A traditional Cotswold Market town with its wide main street and wide grass verges.  This is  a true market town and Tuesday is market day, with its wide range of stalls people come from far and wide to visit this well established market.  In addition to the market, there are a plethora of antique shops, tea shops, restaurants, inns  and hotels all  vying for your attention.

 There are a number of interesting historic facts and figures associated with Moreton-in-Marsh, not least that, reputedly King Charles I slept at The White Hart Inn in 1642.  The Redesdale Market Hall dominates the main thoroughfare and is still used today for antique fairs and flea markets with its steeply pitched roof  and attractive and distinctive clock turret.

The Curfew Tower is one of the few surviving in Britain and at its base is housed of this tower is the old town lock-up.
