After six years on the South Bank, the German Christmas Market moved to Bankside, just outside Tate Modern, last year and it will be returning there once again in 2016. With around 70 wooden chalet-style stalls selling everything from handmade toys and unique jewellery to bratwurst and warming cups of glühwein, it has all the ingredients for a truly festive experience. Despite moving further down the river, the market still boasts impressive views, with St Paul’s and the City skyline as its backdrop, and isn’t too far from its old home to combine a visit to the new, smaller-scale Southbank Centre Christmas Market.
